Message In my case, at every step more things were found that needed to be touched up on. Taking the short block apart was one of my biggest mistakes.

Whats even more frustrating is the fact that after getting it all back together, rebuilding the engine and all, I had to pull everything back out to mend a coolant leak from the hard pipe that goes down the V and the freeze/core plugs. The car ran for only about 3-4 minutes and I had to take everything out again, pull almost everything off the engine to gain access to the needed pipes and plugs.

Oh and all the snags that I hit, and things that went wrong. On one incident I realized that one of the 2nd oil rings on a piston was put on upside down, I went to take it off and correct it and the ring snapped. You cannot order individual OEM rings, so I had to order a whole new set. Now it appears that Z1 offers individual rings for fraction of a cost of a whole new set.

I have nightmares about that happening...I'd be the poor bastard you'd hear about on the news that gets killed by a softball-size chunk while spreading out my body over the hood and screaming "Nooo!" (Having a conversation about hail damage) - BradZ (FL) on March 25, 2005 at 9:56 PM

Tell your friend that you could take a dump, light it on fire and that would be hotter shit than his car. Probes suck, that's just all there is to it. - 300ZXpert (someday) on April 04, 2005 at 11:35 PM
